One, pray for one minute. Pray for one minute every day. Two, work out for five minutes. Every day read one page of any book a day read one scripture from the word of god a day make this list y'all and drink Water every day. Okay. Okay. Welcome back to another episode of more or less where you want to get more out of life to leave it all out On the table, right? So that was a terrible intro. Nevertheless. Let's kick it off here today We're gonna be talking about Consistency is king when it comes to a devoted mindset when it comes to a mindset shift consistency is King I want to start off by, I like to just jump right into it. One of the books that changed my life was this book called the compound effect. I'm not endorsing that book. It's just a great book for you to read. But the concept behind the compound effect was really embracing the power of consistency. And one key note that the book talks about is that it takes a lot of time to took the journey of three men. Three men that started off on the same playing field. They worked in the same job. Made the same salary. One person slightly shifted his routine downward. The other one stayed consistent. The other one made slight improvements, right? And let's call, guy one, two, and three. So guy one, he made the slight shift to downward. Better his day, right? He'll wake up just a little bit earlier, exercise just a little bit more. And that was part of his routine. Guy two kept the same routine, never shifted. Guy three kind of got a little lackadaisical in his health and in his exercise and in his mindset. So they said after the first year, you barely saw a difference. They still look the same. They still, there was not much of a difference between the three guys. But by year two, what happens is guy one let's start in reverse guy three after that first year, little things started happening. He started getting passed up at work. He started having. Difficulty in his marriage. He started having just started feeling more depressed, and, his diet shift slowly started adding more and more to unhealthy choices. So by year two, he gained a lot of weight. He was more down on himself. His work performance was better. Dropped drastically to the point where he was about to be fired. His wife had left him and his whole life just shifted downward. Guy number two, his life didn't change at all. Salary stayed the same, stayed in the same position. Wasn't nothing really bad or negative. He was content. He wasn't like overly happy but he wasn't sad either. His life was just his life. Now, guy, number one, people started recognizing, Oh, you look good. What'd you been doing? You've been working out. You've been exercising. What's changed about you? What's improved about you? He started performing better in work and he started getting recognized for it. So when he got elevated, Far past the other guys in his position and so now he's living this upper lifestyle because he made a little bit of an effort Change which compounded over time by year three guy number three was completely destroyed lost his job Was just struggling in every area of life number two He was still living the same lifestyle content, but he was in the same place. He was three years ago, which to me is still depending on the lifestyle you want, right? But guy number one went up even higher in the workspace. Was on a whole nother level. His salary doubled because his position elevated and everything shifted for him. Because you stay consistent. Whatever you stay consistent in, you'll produce the fruit of it. You have consistent, people think consistency is just supposed to be for the positivity. But you can be consistent, I'm sorry, on a negative level. Journey, you can be consistent in your bad habits Sleeping in every day for a week. That's gonna produce negative results. You're gonna miss the gym. You're gonna miss your breakfast You're gonna miss all the morning routines, he's waking up early to pray and get your day started I love doing that the days I don't do that and I'm like rushing to get to work and I'm rushing to make breakfast and stuff Those are the Days, I'll be struggling. It takes me longer to get into my flow But if I wake up early when I wake up early and I pray and I have my me time By the time the kids are up. I'm like ready what's up? Daddy's here. Let's go When I have those moments right where I'm just devoting my time To get in myself where I need to be. And I do that consistent consistently. And then you get to the point where you see your own results. It's just going to motivate you to stay more consistent. To where it becomes like a lifestyle. I love being in a realm of lifestyle where because of the healthy choices I made now, my body's you can't eat this junk. And when I have I've been eating healthier. But when I don't eat healthy. Oh, it's okay. It's a cheat day. My body's nah, yeah. Enjoy this moment. Wait, you're going to feel it. When I miss two days of not working out, my body's what are you doing? And I immediately get into my workout routine. I'll do something right. Because it became a lifestyle now. And so whatever it is that you're doing, consistency is king. You want to grow in the word of God, be consistent in your prayer life and studying and getting to know who the Lord is, right? You want to be a better parent, be consistent in learning, growing and developing and being present for your kids. You want to be consistent in your health. Make a decision to change your health, stick to it, and don't let up. I know some people be like, oh, it's okay to cheat, here's what you can do. No. From my personal experience the worst decisions I make is what I give into my flesh. And I'm like, I'm gonna eat this cake. I'm gonna eat this. I'm gonna, yeah, you can have that. Oh, sorry, that's my son asking for a snack. But Y'all should've seen it, y'all. He came in hands full of everything from the drawer. Chips, crackers, applesauce. Can I have this? It was so funny. But being consistent. He knows to Not be loud. That way I can keep this podcast going. Now he's got a snack. But whatever you do, be consistent in that, right? What are you going to do with your life? Where do you want to be a year from now? Are you happy with where you are in life? That's a loaded question. Because if you're content, It's okay. You don't have to be the wealthiest, richest, this and that. You can be happy where you are. You can be content where you are. And that's okay. Stay consistent in that. You can be genuinely happy where you are. And if you're happy with that, just keep doing that. And be okay with that. But you that has that itch that I want more out of life that I'm not getting everything that I want, right? You got to tap in. You got to become that person. That's like at any cost, I'm going to be more, not less. The power of consistency is the difference between a Kobe Bryant and. John Moran. Kobe Bryant came in with that potential, he put in the work. Now, he's known as one of the greatest of all time. John Moran came in, putting in some work, but then he allowed consistency of his community to impact him to where he's not even being talked about. He was about to be that name. Of the NBA. They was like who's the next young phenom, right? They're talking about Anthony Edwards now, I believe, because John Morant fumbled. All the accolades, commercials and because Anthony Edwards has been putting in that consistency. I love talking about basketball. I'm always getting basketball references. But, in my opinion, Anthony Edwards, because he stayed consistent, John Morant dropped the ball, Anthony Edwards picked it up, and now he's the face of the league. In my opinion and whatever you're doing in your life, people going to see that consistency people going to recognize hey, you're doing something. What's different about you? I see the growth. I see the change or they're going to be like, Whoa, what happened to you? I see the change. So it's like, what? Is going to cause you to be who you are because what I've come to realize my pattern of consistency Is I will not be consistent because I really don't want to do it. I really didn't want to do it I've tried different podcasts and it just didn't feel right. I always came back to mindset. I love mindset. I love cognitive dissonance I love cognitive development. I love Mindset development perspective. I love talking about that because people can hear the same information You And hear different information. People can hear the same speech and respond differently. People can see the same video and get two different views from it. Because we've built our belief system and we've been consistent in how we believe. Some people are open minded, some people are closed minded. Some people will see the glasses half empty, some people will see the glasses half full, some people will see that there's just a glass with stuff in it. And so it's just all about perspective. What are you going to do to be consistent? Better yet, what will get you to be consistent? When it comes to a healthy eating lifestyle, right? A lot of people will, they call them chronic dieters. The people that, okay, I'm gonna be vegan this month. Okay. I'm gonna be carnivore this month. Can be vegetarian this month. Next month I'm gonna be pescatarian. Next month I'm gonna do belly total fitness. Next month I'm gonna do animated fasting. Next month I'm gonna do total fasting. They are habitual in their diet routine instead of sticking to something that they genuinely believe in. What we have to do is take a step back and say, okay, what do I genuinely believe in? And then from there lock into, okay, how is this going to fit my lifestyle? Do I really want it to be my lifestyle? Cause one thing I was scared of with being consistent is like when I was talking about communication and development, I love talking about communication as part of mindset, but it's do I want that to be my Do I want to be known as that guy? I love, I started a mission last year big goals on helping fathers and what I'm doing now still taps into that. But I was like, is that the only thing I want to be known for? Is that the only space I want to grow and develop in? Or is that part of the bigger mission? When I realized I was part of the bigger mission, then I had to step back and say, okay, what is the bigger mission? What is the bigger calling? What is the bigger pursuit? And it's really mindset development, how to be a better father, how to build wealth for your family and generations, how to overcome grief, how to win at life in general really comes down to mindset. You could tell me whatever situation you're in and I'm gonna give you a mindset routine that you can practice implement and I can guarantee you it's going to work for you. It's really all about perspective in life. One thing that I find so intriguing is that everyone believes their own reality. But then there's one common reality that people believe cumulatively on. So What I mean by that is when it comes to faith, if you believe in God and in his way of living, he tapped into his way of thinking, even though his ways are above our ways, that's around where we can all live consistently on. But there's some people that don't fully understand the Bible or read the word of God, and they have their own belief system and their viewpoint is their viewpoint. So their whole reality is based on what they see. And so that's what I call that reality, but below the reality, because at the end of the day, we see things how we're going to see them. We believe what we want to believe and we, and our results are based on that. So that's why the power of thought, the power of consistency is so profound. If you continually pursue God's word, there's no question that you're going to become a person of faith. That's going to be like unstoppable in faith. When you pursue cognitive development, life on another level, like Solomon from the Bible. The greater he grew in wisdom, the more vanity he saw in life, to the point where he got so vain that he got to the point where it don't really even matter. Nothing really matters, and he ended up giving it to his flesh, because his mindset superseded he got so wise, that in a sense he became foolish. Because there's too much wisdom to bear. He came at the end of the day, this and that stuff really don't matter, so what I don't really matter. That's basically what happened to Solomon, in my opinion. And so like, when we tap into a level of consistency, I like throw this question out there. It's would you rather be consistent in pursuing God, And find out that it's all wrong or not pursuing God and find out it's all right. Because if you pursue God and it's all wrong, but you live the lifestyle of peace, joy, and happiness, you're going to look back and say, you know what? Even if this whole thing wasn't real, I loved the life that I lived. I loved the person that I was. But if you flip it, I don't want to roll those dice. But even in that pursuit what do you want to be consistent in? What are you genuine about? Take the time to reflect and be like, am I pursuing this for my own happiness? Am I trying to get in shape, be healthy for me or for somebody else? Am I studying this in school? If you're younger, if I'm studying this for my parents, for somebody else or for me, am I starting this business to, for somebody else or for me? Am I doing this thing that I'm doing because it's trendy, it's popular? Am I doing drop shipping and doing a clothing line and making a book and struggling to grow this business that I started because I want to be like everybody else? Or do I want to do this new thing that nobody else is doing but I'm just scared? And because I haven't been consistent in it long enough to see the fruit of it. So I I give up on it and I try to do, okay, it's working for Joe and Smith over there. So I'm just, you gotta find what's true to your heart and be consistent in that. I found something I love, like I'll be on and off in a gym. Then I'm gonna tell you a little bit about, I love this punching bag I got. I got like when I was doing CrossFit back when back when I was younger, I loved it. So I got me a routine. I got back into like my little CrossFit routine, boxing, got these slam ropes. Y'all I love the slam ropes for my exercise. And because it makes it fun. I'm not just like pushing myself just to do it, but I'm having fun while I exercise. And I do it every day. I do something every day like calisthenics. If I don't hit the bag, I'm doing pushups, sit ups, squats. Every single day. Like my, like after I had this, my body's Hey, you ain't work out enough today yet. I guarantee you. I'm a do like a 15 minute workout soon as I hit stop recording. Cause my body is in that routine now. So what are you doing? And I do apologize for the sound of this cause I noticed my nose is a little stuffy and so it might come up in the quality of this video. I do apologize for that. But I want you guys to take a time to reflect. All your consistency if you're not being consistent, you might not really want to do what you're doing If you're trying to be vegan and it's not hitting that diet might not be your body might be telling you. Hey, it's not for you this is my personal opinion, you're trying to be a bodybuilder. It's not working try calisthenics Try cardio try run club try something that's going to make you feel good about it Like if reading the word of god is a struggle find a bible in the year app That's gonna work for you. Find a routine. Find a podcast. Find something that's gonna get the word of God in you. But you gotta tread lightly. Cause on the bad side of it, you wanna make sure it's good, right? Like you don't want to do a diet that's going to be detrimental to your health. You don't want to do a study plan in the Bible that teaches false doctrine. You don't want to do something that's going to lead you in a path of consistency the wrong way. So you got to find that balance. You got to find what's true to you. Not true to you. You got to find what's true in nature. Got to find what's true in nature that's appealing to you and gravitate to that. But also, if you truly, genuinely want to tap in, you just got to get over yourself and win at life and be bigger you. You got to say, you know what, bump all that. As my wife used to say, bump that. I'm just going to push through. I'm going to Be better. I'm going to think better. I'm going to read a book a day. I'm going to read my word every day. I'm going to hit the gym no matter what. Take it one day at a time. And that is my last point. Take it one day at a time. One day at a time. One day at a time. Lose a pound a day, you lost 30 pounds in a month. I know that's not realistic, but just do the math. Instead of thinking like, oh, man, I want to lose 30 pounds by summer. And so you're always thinking about that and you end up doing it because you think it's too much work. But if you think about okay, I'm gonna eat right today. I'm gonna work out today. I'm gonna do what I need to do today. What I did, I made a chart, a simplicity chart. Take my simplicity chart, guys. I'm gonna give you five things to do that's gonna change your life. One, pray for one minute. Pray for one minute every day. Two, work out for five minutes. Every day read one page of any book a day read one scripture from the word of god a day make this list y'all and drink Water every day. Let's call back that five right pray for a minimum of one minute Exercise for a minimum of five minutes. Do whatever you want five minutes straight Read one page of a book that's going to stimulate your mind. Just make an effort to do one page, make an effort to read one scripture. Like you not read one scripture and drink water. Once you check out those five things, see how you feel because your mindset. It's like a cognitive development practice. Like, when you check off these little goals, your body's gonna be like, okay, what else can I do? Next thing you know, you're gonna be reading a chapter of a book. You're gonna be working out for 15 minutes instead of 5. You're gonna be drinking a gallon of water instead of just a cup of water. You're gonna be doing these little things. You're gonna be doing these little things. But I guarantee you, you do those 5 things every single day. You're going to get a result. They might be minor, but I guarantee you Something in you is going to say I did this little bit, I read one scripture Let me just read five more. Let me read the rest of this chapter. I read this one book Let me just finish the chapter I exercise. Let me just do another set But all you have to do is go for the minimum and see if you'll push through past it I guarantee you those little nuances is going to shift your life and you're going to add to the list Okay, i'm gonna make sure I eat one vegetable today. I'm gonna make sure I eat You I'm going to go outside for 10 minutes and just be outside in the sun. Like I'm going to pray in the morning and at night, I'm going to listen to one worship song today. Like whatever it is for you, do it, do that little list, copy that list down, copy that list down. Let me know in the comments, let me know on this particular episode, how that has changed your life. Come back and play this episode again to encourage yourself in a power of consistency. I guarantee you. You do, you make that list of five and like in 10 days, push it to 10, add your own thing. Add your own five things to that five list. Start my five, add five more, and then see where that takes you in 30 days of consistency and let me know how your life has transformed. I guarantee you, you're going to be much, much more than you were. And if you don't do it, you're going to be much, much less than you were. So I ask you, do you want to be more or do you want to be less? The choice is yours. I'll see you on the next episode. Okay. Okay.
